Provider Training & Consultation
As someone who grew up in a rural town in the Pacific Northwest, I know how difficult it can be for families to access specialized healthcare services. I am passionate about working with community-based primary care providers and early intervention providers to increase access to autism screening and evaluation using evidence-based practices.
As a certified trainer in the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers (STAT), I currently offer STAT training for providers across WA state. This work is informed by my training as a behavioral health provider working in tandem with COE pediatricians in primary care to provide autism evaluations, along with my postdoctoral work at the University of Washington with Dr. Wendy Stone, who developed the STAT.
What is the STAT and how do I sign up for a workshop?
The Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers (STAT) is an interactive screening tool that was developed to identify features of autism in toddlers. It was designed for use by community-based providers and takes about 20 minutes to administer. The STAT consists of 12 play-based activities to observe toddlers’ play, imitation, and communication skills. Additional information about the STAT is available at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center.
STAT Training with Dr. Britsch and her colleagues includes participation in a one-day workshop, followed by additional certification activities with individualized feedback to support you in learning the STAT. Costs vary based on the size of the group; please reach out to discuss training needs for your organization. STAT Materials Kits are an additional cost; instructions for purchase through Vanderbilt Kennedy Center will be provided at workshop registration.
